lady umbrella is making it "rain"...t-shirts!!

you're probably wondering: "who/what is lady umbrella?" an eclectic t-shirt line hailing all the way from ireland designed by elena montes casado...that's the who and what. established in 2008, Elena & Robert set out to "fuse fashion and art" in the form of super soft tees. i met Rob via twitter, he's such a sweetie; he introduced me to the LadyUmbrella line and it's been nothing but fun ever since! how was the lady umbrella name born? check the story below:

"The brand LadyUmbrella came to be as a direct result of the wet Irish weather. Elena, who had lived most of her life in Madrid/Barcelona arrived in Ireland during the dark, wet, winter months of 07 and saw streets laiden with umbrellas. The quantity of umbrellas obscured and hid peoples faces - LadyUmbrella was born."

i've always been a fan of t-shirts, especially ones with unique designs or sayings; lady umbrella meets that criteria. check out some of their designs.

when i first saw the freja open toe laced zip bootie strut down alexander wang's spring 2010 rtw i knew I had to have them!! these are offered in a variety of colorways, the black and the pinstriped version hold a special place in my heart!! shopbop.com got them in yesterday and, unfortunately ladies...they're all gone!! check back often as i'm sure this bootie will be replenished.

what's a wardrobe without a skirt? specifically, a pencil skirt; this is an essential piece that easily transitions from work to play. pencil skirts are a perfect mix of sexy and sophistication and every lady should have at least 5 in various lengths, materials and colors. think about it...fall/winter materials differ from spring/summer because of the weight of the fabric. black is always in, however, khaki, white or a even one in a vibrant color or pattern is acceptable.  i'm going to keep it simple today and stick to the basics...BLACK, you can never go wrong with this color. dress it up or dress it down and it works. i love classic cotton ones with a hint of stretch, however, designers have been experimenting with different blends and i like it. check it out...

james perse took the classic pencil skirt and made it out of soft jersey material!! i love it, this skirt is the epitome of sexy meets sophistication. these are the elements that put the extra in extraordinary.

love/hate...

i have a love/hate relationship with fashion week!! why?? well before the new season begins designers are already dishing out the latest and greatest. prime example

i love these moon/snowboarder/biker/eskimo/ski boots from the burberry prorsum a/w 2010-2011 collection. but i'm not thinking about purchasing boots right now...sheesh!! i'm ready to show off my fresh pedi in shoes that will ultimately make my pinky toes want to hop off my feet and strangle me at the end of the day/night!! hahahahahaha

but when it's all said and done; i love fashion week for the same reason!!
